Vitor Davied
“Every time luck came looking for me, it found me working.” “Every time luck has sought me out, it has found me working”. Pablo Picasso’s quote is one of actor Vitor Davied’s mantras and defines the actor’s professional life and career jorney. Since the beginning of his professional training at “Teatro Escola Macunaíma” in 2001, he has been working hard to learn more and more about the acting profession, which he chose at a young age. And he hasn’t stopped since then.
It was at Teatro Escola Macunaíma where he first came into contact with the stage – and he took part in five shows as a group. It was also there where he met the director Zedu Neves, who invited him to join the theater company Gritos e Sussurros , one of his greatest schools. Davied says that at this place he learned how an actor should work to give life to the characters. During his career, he also had great masters on his journey, such as Daniel Ribeiro, one of Antunes Filho’s greatest followers.
Also in the theater, besides the shows he performed with Gritos e Sussurros, Vitor took part in “Projeto Homens ao Mar – Rumo a Cardiff”, with Companhia Triptal, in which he won several awards, including Prêmio Shell, and “Hamlet-Gasshô” directed by Rubens Ewald Filho.
In between his studies for the career he had chosen as a boy, he pursued a new career: journalism. There, he also did many things on camera, such as presenting a podcast at the university. “At that time, social networks were beginning to take hold and I learned a lot from what I did at the university,” he said.
After graduating in 2009, Vitor Davied began working on advertising campaigns. At this time, he says he was literally ‘caught’ by audiovisuals. In the cinema, he took part in the feature film “Apaixonado pela Minha Melhor Amiga”, by the Mexican director Carlos Preciado in 2016; the film “Indefinido” by Cleber Amorim, in 2017 and the feature film “Bingo – O rei das manhãs”, by Daniel Rezende, in 2018. On TV, series such as “Temporada de Verão”, Netflix, “Carcereiros” and the soap opera “Orgulho e Paixão (TV Globo), ‘Filme B’ (Canal Brasil), ‘Os Amargos’ (Turner), and ‘Guia Politicamente Incorreto’, where he gave life to Pedro I (History Channel).
Davied continues to study and improve in his chosen profession; he is currently part of a film acting study group with Fernando Leal, to learn even more and prepare to tell a story of the magnitude of the studies and preparation he has been doing.
