Amanda Lee is always on the go. Routine doesn’t take part in her life. Besides being an actress, she keeps a very busy exercise schedule. The artistic career and the athletics work together “I start practicing at five in the morning. Triathlon came naturally into my life and today it improves my state of mind and helps me turn out to be me more perseverant , ”she says.
She was born in Copacabana, a neighborhood in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Amanda earned good positions in inter-college handball competitions. In parallel, she invested in an interpretation course at CAL – Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras. Her interest in the arts began in early childhood. “I bring back memories of going to the movies. I found the magic of the exhibitions playful. I watched every possible movie, ”she recalls.
The beginning of her successful career took an important turn when she was called to make a guest appearance in Aguinaldo Silva and Ricardo Linhares’s soap opera “A Indomada” in 1997. “This fact is amazing since no one in my family is connected to sports or arts. My father is a tax inspector and my mother is a housewife”, she says. Soonafterwards, she mended several popular works: “Corpo Dourado”, “Coração de Estudante”, “A Casa das Sete Mulheres”. “I had already bought a ticket to go to London, when an opportunity arose to be hired by TV Record. I gave up the project of studying abroad . I still have the ticket that I didn’t use”, she says, without any kind of regret.
She is married to the volleyball player Nalbert, with whom she has two children – Rafaela and Vitor. Amanda says that time has brought her more self-confidence. “Maturity has given me control over anxiety, it puts me on the axis for the purpose of being an actress. Her point of view is: ‘What did you come here for?’. I don’t live in despair for everything to happen yesterday anymore. I live a peaceful life. In addition, meditation helps myself to be self-centered”, she says, always focused on her life purposes. “The role of the actor is very important. Life is not glamour, followers and inflated ego. Art has a social nature, each character conveys its message.”
