With more than three decades dedicated to the art of acting, Daniel Marinho has built a solid and diverse career spanning theatre, television, film and, more recently, the world of streaming. An actor known for his strong presence and versatility, he has appeared in important Brazilian and international productions. His career began in childhood and continues to grow through projects in both Brazil and Europe.
Daniel’s first contact with theatre came at the age of 12. Still very shy, he was encouraged by his mother to take acting classes as a way to develop his self‑expression. What began as an exercise in confidence quickly became a passion. In amateur theatre he joined the Tapume Group, where he stepped on stage for the first time in productions of classic children’s plays — an experience that ultimately confirmed his artistic calling.
Years later, chance helped open the doors to television. Daniel was discovered by a casting producer while practicing horseback riding and was invited to appear in the TV series “A Viagem”, marking the beginning of his professional career in screen acting.
Determined to refine his craft, Daniel invested deeply in his artistic training. He studied acting with renowned professionals such as Cecil Thiré and Tizuka Yamasaki, attended the traditional Tablado theatre school, and later joined the prestigious TV Globo Actors Workshop. Shortly after this experience, he landed his first recurring role in television: Escova in the series “Malhação”, a character that remained in the storyline for a year and became well known among audiences.
Other significant television projects followed, including the series “Zazá”, alongside Fernanda Montenegro, as well as productions such as “Vila Madalena” and “Celebridade”, on TV Globo. In the following years, Daniel expanded his presence in Brazilian television drama with roles in productions such as “Prova de Amor” and “Bicho do Mato” on TV Record, and “Amor e Revolução” on SBT, where he played the character Captain Tavares.
Alongside television, theatre has always held a special place in his career. Daniel appeared in stage productions such as “Em Nome do Filho”, directed by Reginaldo Faria, “O Noviço”, directed by Milton Gonçalves, and “The Respectful Prostitute”, by Jean‑Paul Sartre, directed by Sílvio Guindane — experiences that reinforced his deep connection with the stage.
Holding Portuguese citizenship, Daniel also began developing part of his career in Portugal, expanding his work into the European market. This new phase brought invitations for advertising campaigns and audiovisual projects, strengthening his artistic presence between Brazil and Europe.
This period also marked his growing involvement in independent productions. Alongside director Lucas Domso and Brazilian actor Guilherme Trajano, Daniel produced the web series “T1 – Contrato Vitalício”. The independent project gained international recognition and earned him a Best Actor nomination at the Rio WebFest 2025. The production also received additional nominations at the festival and was nominated for Best Web Series at the Toscana Festival.
In recent years, Daniel has further expanded his presence on screen. He appeared in the series “Impuros” (Star+/Disney), one of the biggest successes in Brazilian streaming, and in the HBO series “O Negócio”. In 2025, he joined the cast of the Portuguese television drama “Terra Forte” (TVI), playing Dr. Rogério and strengthening his presence in the European audiovisual market.
Between stages, studios and film sets, Daniel now divides his professional activity between Brazil and Portugal, participating in productions in both countries and helping to strengthen an artistic bridge between Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon.
