A “chance” meeting over seven years ago brought Antonia Frering and art together and made her decide to become a seriously prepared actress.

Watching her son's acting class, she couldn't resist the call of the acting universe. “I saw at once that was what I should be doing. Only then I seamed together a series of events involving my desire to become an actress and realized that was what I'd always wanted to do,” she recalls.

After two years studying acting for both the stage and film in Brazil and Europe, Antonia made her acting debut in Fabrizzio Costa's Madre Teresa de Calcutá movie, playing the role of a nun. She earned the part thanks to both her beauty and her natural talent before the camera, besides her knowledge of the English language, in which she's as fluent as in French, Spanish, and Italian. “The director liked my video portfolio and invited me for the movie,” says she, who went to Sri Lanka with the crew to shoot the film.

Since then, Antonia has been pursuing her career in cinema in both Brazil and abroad in movies like “You Can Run”, “Callas”, and the Brazilian “Se Eu Fosse Você”, by director Daniel Filho.

She made her debut on television in 2006, playing a part in Globo TV's Cobras & Lagartos soap opera, co-starred by Francisco Cuoco. In 2008, she played French Silvie L’Clair in Antônio Calmon's Três Irmãs, soap opera, also on Globo TV.

She has recently produced and acted in Donald Churchill's O Pintor, a play translated by journalist Bárbara Heliodora and adapted by author João Emanuel Carneiro. On stage, she's been directed by Guilherme Piva.

Happy with her career abroad, Antonia makes no secret of her desire of acting in Brazil, either in soap operas, stage plays, or continuing her movie career . At the same time, she devotes herself to acting classes, in her continuous search for becoming better and better in her craft.
